Shayla - ADOPTED!! Border Collie Mix Richmond, VA

Shayla is a sweet, young border collie mix, around a year old. We are not sure of her heritage as she was found as a stray, no one came forward to claim her, but it is obvious that she was special to someone at one point. She loves being close to her people, in fact, she has no sense of one's 'personal space', she will climb in your lap, lean into you, or just lay at your feet, anything to feel connected to her person. Shayla was initially very afraid of the other dogs (and cats) in her foster home, but after getting adjusted, she now loves to play with the rest of the 'pack'. Shayla is still very puppyish, but is very bright, attentive, and willing, she has taken to training very readily. She is housebroken, crate trained and knows some basic manners like 'sit' and 'down'. She would be wonderful with older children, however, she will nip when frightened or grabbed by the collar, so it would be best to have her around children over 10 years old that are familiar with being around dogs. Shayla is active and playful, not over the top, she would be an excellent companion for an active family that has the desire to spend time with her. Shayla is being fostered in Richmond, VA.

All ARCBCR dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on all vaccines, heartworm negative and on preventative, dewormed and on flea and tick preventative before going to their forever homes.
