Meet MUFFIN

Stuffin-puffin-Muffin, that's what she looks like, if there's such a thing. She's short, fluffy, and a little chubby. That's our Muffin! Born near 2/25/12, we love our little Muffin. She loves to roll on the floor at your feet and starts purring the minute she is picked up. We decided to have some testing done to our Muffin because she seemed to not always "get it".  In fact she seldom moves for a dog, person, or anything.  She likes to just flip over and lay on her back.  She has a funny gait in her rear end so first on the list was x-rays which did show that her hips were out of line just a tad - not enough to ever worry about.  Then we had some blood work done because she still did not seem 100%.  That all came back completely normal.  Call it a mother's intuition but we still felt that Muffin was different so we took her in for a second opinion and now we understand our little Muffin.

Our Muffin has Feline Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH).  Feline Cerebellar Hypoplasia is a widely misunderstood affliction that causes the unnecessary destruction of thousands of cats annually.  Feline CH is caused in-utero when the pregnant mother cat contracts Feline Distemper. Cats with CH are commonly known as “CH Cats”.  Due to under-development of the cerebellum, which controls balance and coordination,  CH Cats have mild to severe physical coordination issues.  Their intelligence is normal, they feel no pain, and live long and healthy lives. They tend to be more dependent on humans, and often build very strong bonds with their adoptive parents.

The more we read on CH kitties the luckier we feel that Muffin found ARFP!  We feel truly lucky to know her because she has endeared herself to everyone.  Muffin has been spayed, loves other cats, and is a delight to be around. Maybe because she is so darn cute! Do you need a kitty to dote on? One that will give you lots of love in return? Muffin's your girl!
