Lemmie Shetland Sheepdog / Sheltie & Corgi Mix High Point, NC

Lemmie is a super handsome, very sweet mix who looks like a miniature Collie or Sheltie but has a long, low body like a Corgi’s. His fur is soft and luxurious.


He is only about 2 years old and owner-surrendered. While he may initially be a little shy, especially in the noisy kennel environment, he will blossom within minutes when he starts feeling confident with a new person and he transforms into a wonderfully happy, affectionate, snuggly and playful baby doll!


He loves toys and being silly and toys bring him quickly out of his shell. He is good with other dogs and he would enjoy another playful dog in his new home but it's not necessary.


Lemmie is housetrained.


A fenced yard would be ideal since he can be a little skittish at first and doesn’t like to be chased and cornered by strangers. He is also very smart and a little mischievous and likes to take off to go exploring so a fenced yard and a conscientious owner would be great. He'll even try to open doors when motivated so he does need an equally smart owner who will set rules and boundaries.


Lemmie is a lovely size at 24#, still small enough to be a lap dog when he is seeking snuggles, yet sturdy enough for long walks in the park.


Lemmie will do best with a dog-savvy new owner who will be a loving alpha. His prior owner tended to baby him until he started thinking he might be the boss instead of the human and didn't need to mind her. With just very basic retraining, this wonderful guy will quickly revert back to his obedient self, we are sure! He is so smart and really prefers a confident owner to lead him. 


Overall, this is one fabulous dog, a wonderful companion, just needs a little guidance from a knowledgeable family, just like any other youngster, dog or human!
