NIKE Akita Millerstown, PA

 


Beautiful Nike, Goddess of Victory! She is 6 1/2 years old and weights 70lbs. Nike was found lying in the middle of the road, very tired. It took her a few days to rest up but she is now a happy, sweet girl who loves human companionship! Nike is not rude with the other dogs, but she does likes to run the fence line with them, but she never tries to fence fight in any way. Nike is good with kids. A meowing cat sparks her interest and makes her whine but she shows no aggression toward them.
She loves to sit by your side and listen to you read or just listen to the nature around you both.
She is not a barker, though she will join the others in alerting at times.
When Nike first arrived she did show some food aggression but I can now pull her food dish away from her with a stick. Though we will not give her chew toy, bones, hooves etc. As she does resource guard.
Nike loves being petted and brushed. 
She loves to play with toys.She will run after a toy and bring it back. She prefers a stuffed toy over a ball and she enjoys a game of tuggy with her rope. She will not always give you the toys she's playing with but she will bring it to you, show it to you and if you do not pay attention to her, she will push the toy on you so you will play "try and get it"!! 
Nike is very gentle. She DOES have a stubborn strike though as is common for this breed.
Nike has not been at all destructive. She will make a great companion dog, someone who would like a quiet friend by their side.
A place with plenty of room where she can enjoy the great outdoors would make her very help.
She likes walks and wading in the pond after a walk, but she's not a swimmer, just a wader!
She is a happy girl and has become quite a clown! She is content to lay on the porch. If you know this breed and would like a great companion dog, this is your girl!
