Meet Oliver!
Oliver is a red neutered male smooth coat Dachshund with killer brown eyes. His birthday is 5/10/2010 and he weighs 14.90 pounds. Oliver is America's Pet Registry (APR) paper born in Soper Oklahoma. He is fully vetted including his neuter, vaccines with rabies, occult heartworm and fecal tested negative, receiving monthly heartworm prevention and flea control. Oliver is ready for adoption.
Oliver was rescued in April 2012 from Caddo Parish Animal Control (CPAC) in Shreveport Louisiana. He was owner surrender to the shelter because his previous owner did not trust Oliver with small children. All vet records were surrendered with him and available to the adopter. Notes from the CPAC include a written statement that Oliver snapped at Vet when trying to de-worm. Oliver failed testing for adoption and was put on the rescue list ASAP.

Oliver is a wonderful Dachshund. He was timid when we first met. 3 hours off and on found a loving fellow knowing I loved him. Oliver knows his name, walks on a leash (zooming around most of the time) crate and potty trained. He does not hike his leg to use the restroom. Oliver likes other K 9's and strangers are welcome. I have no idea of his actual life before rescue but I have pulled his ears and tail finding no issues. A home life of love and respect for Oliver will make a perfect companion.

Jeff Tarpley Rescue is a one man rescue dedicated to helping animals. All animals for adoption are rescued from shelters or owner surrenders. Every JTR rescued animal is fully vetted and 100% healthy prior to adoption. Puppies under 4 months old receive their shots from a DVM. A spay/neuter contract is required for adoption. The vetting of an adult animal includes spay/neutered, shots with rabies, heartworm and parasite tested. Treatment of heartworms, dentals, cherry eye repair, mange, parvo exposure and broken limbs are some examples of what is done to save lives. Vet records come with adoption along with the last date of interceptor for heartworm prevention and frontline placed for flea control.

Never adopted before?

Everyone wishing to adopt an animal from JTR must complete an adoption application. This application asks for general information about the adopter, adopter’s family, other current and prior pets and previous veterinary care. If you have never had a family pet before, follow up veterinary calls will be made during the year to insure the animal is being well cared for. Home visits are required unless the distance is too far for JTR or JTR’s contacts. Pictures of the home and common ground are required. Once the application is approved the adopter may meet and or adopt any of JTR's animals. A signed adoption contract is required. Adopters with approved applications are top priority to JTR.
