Meet Tilly

Meet Miss Tilly. Tilly is an adult Pek believed to be 5-6 years old. Tilly was rescued from a local shelter where she had been for several weeks. Her foster mom noticed right away that something was not right with her. Upon taking her to the vet it was discovered that Tilly had a very large bladder stone that was causing her much pain in trying to go the bathroom. For her it felt like having to go all the time. STH immediately scheduled her for surgery.
It's been several months since her surgery and Tilly is feeling a 100% !!!  She has put on some much needed weight and has had a clean urinalysis post surgery.  Her coat went from dingy to full and beautiful.  She is feeling good.
She was also spayed and brought up to date on all her vet care. It appears Miss Tilly's past life was to produce puppies based on the shape of her uterus. The vet also felt that most likely through poor nutrition and the toll on her body is how she developed her stone and sadly, her family dumped her when she needed them the most.

What's great about this girl? Well, first of all, she has a face that will make you smile. She also LOVES her human. She would very much like a home that could spend a lot of time with her. She loves to talk to you when she is excited, will dance for her dinner and in her cute and prancie way...she loves her walks. She has enjoyed the company of her foster dog and most likely would like a canine friend, but would prefer a smaller dog or laid back buddy. She can be a stinker around cats, therefore, a cat free home is best. She does well in the car and listens well. She is close to being potty trained. Because she lived with her bladder stone for so long and most likely in a breeding situation where she was crated or penned, she will have accidents. She wears a sassy diaper at times to allow her longer hours without going out.  Frequent trips to outside and continued patience and support is needed.
Her foster mom will be talking applications and looking for a home that can fit her needs. She will need to be groomed and brushed regularly, her eyes cleaned as it is a common issue with Peks. She will need a required yearly wellness exam and yearly xray to check the status of any future stones. Her future home needs to consider the vet costs as part of her care. With a good diet, she may never have them again, but being proactive in her care will be optimal.
Contact blueroomresecue@yahoo.com for an application. Please allow 24 hours for processing. Tilly's adoption fee is $175 to help off set the costs invested into her care when rescued.  Over $800 was invested to get this spunky girl back on track.  Thank you for considering a rescued animal.
