History: Motley Zoo Animal Rescue was asked to find Button a great forever family and that is exactly what we plan to do!

Notes from Button's Foster Home: Button is an affectionate girl who likes to follow her person. When hanging around the house, she loves to burrow under a blanket near her people. When she's outside, she is very peppy and does well on a leash. She may be "older", but she has a lot of energy! She has gone on 4 mile walks and still had plenty of energy to spare, and she loves going on walks. She is a good eater. Button also does well at the dog park and enjoys meeting new dogs. However, when on leash, she tends to go into "protector" mode, and will bark and lunge at passing dogs. She does great off leash when meeting new dogs in neutral territory. In fact, she lives with two dogs and a neighboring dog visits almost daily and Button gets along fine with all of them, even the ones who like to clean  her face for her. That being said, she doesn't NEED another dog in the home...she gets along fine with them, but she's more concerned with her people and would be just fine as an only dog as well. If there are other dogs in the home, she does have a tendency to rule the roost a little, so a calm canine companion who doesn't mind that works great. When she first meets new people, she is wary for a short time, but she quickly settles in and becomes comfortable. She has been described as an angelic little dog at adoption events - she's quiet and easy!

Button is very much a lap dog and likes to be either cuddled with her human or with other dogs in the house for warmth. When there are dogs on TV, she lapses into body guard mode and will growl at them! Ha! She is the alpha dog in the house, but will happily submit to doggie kisses from her close canine friends. She is very devoted and loving. She lets you know her excitement to see you when you're home, jumping up and down like a spring in front of you! :) Also, Button LOVES her stuffed monkey toy, you can see it in her picture with her and in her video. She plays fetch with it and sleeps with it. She will lick it and snuggle it and then bite it’s face off too ;) We will be sending Button to her forever home WITH her monkey (plus a spare monkey)! This loving girl can't wait to find her forever home!!

All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and either a Martingale collar or a harness, depending on each dog's particular needs.

Welcome to Motley Zoo Animal Rescue. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization that is run entirely by volunteers. Motley Zoo does not have a brick and mortar shelter location. Instead, all our rescue animals are cared for in private foster homes where the animals receive one-on-one care and attention in a home environment until permanent placement is found. Please email adopt@motleyzoo.org and request an adoption application and we will work toward approving you as an adopter with our rescue so that we can set a time for you to meet! For more information, please visit www.motleyzoo.org.

Thank you for considering adopting a dog in need!

Woof,

The Motley Zoo Crew
