Name/Nicknames: Baxter

My Story: Baxter came with a few other dogs from a rural part of Iowa. He came up to the Twin Cities to give him a better chance at finding his forever home!

Hobbies: Chewing on bones, snuggling, playing with toys, playing with his foster parents and playing with his foster brother. Baxter likes to run in the yard and try to eat the grass.

Commands/Tricks: Sit, Wait, Working on tooth brushing but does not like tools (comb, toothbrush, scissors) by his face.

Crate / Potty Trained:Yes to both!


Activity Level: Medium: Baxter has spurts of activity, but also snuggles up nicely

Fun things I do: He likes to paw at his people when he wants something, and he makes all sorts of weird and funny noises. He is a great car rider; so he is ready to join you at your summer cabin up North!

Socialization/who I currently live with: Foster Mom and Dad and foster brother (dog). He has also visited their family member, who has a large dog; and he got along great with everyone!! He is very friendly.

My Ideal Family: Someone who will give him a lot of attention and keep him near at all times. He should go to a home where there is someone who will play with him and snuggle up to him. They should know that because of his breed, he needs to be groomed/brushed daily. Due to lack of daily exposure while in our foster program, we are not sure how he is with kids, but based on his personality we are guessing he would do just fine. He is good with other dogs but again, we are not sure about cats due to his lack of exposure to the felines while in Pet Haven's care.

Baxter is attending Pet Haven's small dog adoption events and his adoption fee is $300 (cash or check only) and includes spay/neuter, heartworm check, current vaccinations, and microchip and registration.
Due to post-adoption services provided, it is Pet Haven's policy to only place dogs into homes within a 60-mile radius of the Twin Cities area.
