Name/Nicknames: Nick

My Story: Nick was surrendered to a shelter in IA. Sadly, black dogs don't get adopted too quickly down there so we brought him to the cities
so he can have a better chance at finding his forever home.

Hobbies: Nick LOVES to go for walks and chase a ball. He may have a basset's short legs, but he is definitely a lab at heart!


Commands/Tricks: It doesn't appear his previous family spent any time on obedience training; his foster mom is working on teaching Nick all his basic commands, however, this continued traning will be needed by his next home

Crate / Potty Trained:Nick is both potty trained and crate trained.

Activity Level: High- Nick is still a puppy and doesn't let you forget it! He runs around any chance he gets! Are you a runner? You just found your new running partner!

Fun things I do: What isn't fun about a puppy? Nick does all the typical puppy things- including running, bouncing, napping, and giving toys a run for their money!

Socialization/who I currently live with: Nick lives with his foster mom, a cat, and 3 dogs - 1 smaller, 1 bigger and 1 just his size!

My Ideal Family: Nick would love a family that is able to take him for walks (or runs!), throw a ball for him, take him to the dog park and anything else
to help him get his energy out! He will need owners that know how to deal with a puppy and everything that goes along with it - like providing structure through general obedience. He does like to jump up and is very strong so it is not recommended he to go a home with young kids.

Nick is attending Pet Haven's medium/large dog adoption events and his adoption fee is $300 (cash or check only) and includes spay/neuter, heartworm check, current vaccinations, and microchip and registration.
Due to post-adoption services provided, it is Pet Haven's policy to only place dogs into homes within a 60-mile radius of the Twin Cities area.
