Luna is a wonderful Olde English Bulldoge (for breed info see the following link http://www.ioeba.net/) who is about 5 years old.  She is dog, cat, kid, small animal friendly and now that she has healed from ACL surgery she is ready for a home of her own! 






Luna Update!! 


 

The new Luna!!! -----   ------    Luna is still a love muffin – but more so! She is a ham,- she loves to watch tv and barks at all animals, including cartoons! She is still building up the muscles in her leg after surgery, but she sure can wrestle, pounce, flop and play with her furry foster brothers, and foster parents for quite some time,,,, but has a tender sense when it comes to her 5 yr old foster sister, kidlet friends, the crazy cousins and the babies.  

 

Luna is the best cuddler, snuggler weve ever met – generally we spoon the big dogs – not luna, she will spoon you – on a chair no less! She will put a leg on either side of your torso, snuggle her head and the rest of her body in until every piece of her is touching you – as she gets hotter, she’ll turn herself until she is laying upside down, with head hanging off the chair/couch until the weight of her head pulls her off and she lands on the floor.... she seems fine with this arrangement as it has been repeated for months now!

 

Luna has been to hell and back, and truly has the most loving personality! She does not do well separated from other dogs, and does need to be in a home with at least one male dog that likes to wrestle! She does beautifully with all animals (rats, birds, cats, small dogs etc.) and she is good with large dogs. If she is meeting them in the home she is snobby (which ive never seen before- she truly is a princess!! ) at first, but warms within a few moments to a few days depending how forgiving the other dog(s) are– if shes at the park she will love them right away. On walks she doesn’t pull, unless she is reaching to give a passerby a lick on the hand, or wants to meet another dog!

 

With being a beautiful, squat, heavy all body bulldog- she is also very stubborn. She attaches well to one consistent leader, but they need to be very consistent (and patient) if you want her to give up and do what you ask. It has taken us 6 months to learn pee outside --- even when it’s raining! She will never be able to do stairs, even 3-4 stairs will be a problem for her. She can manage a step in our out of the house, or very large outdoor steps. She has a lazy personality, with the typical zoomies of the bullies!

Luna was dumped by her breeder and landed up at the Langley Animal Protection Society with two other ex-breeding relatives. She was very sick upon arrival and we decided to take her on as a compassion case, but Luna seems to have other plans as she has thrived in foster care.   So we listenned to Luna, figured out her potential heart issue was no big deal, and went ahead with her ACL surgery.  She is built long, wide and low, and her legs will never be perfect, but she is now playing, camping and going for jaunts on the beach!  She loves wrestling with her Mastiff foster brother!  Luna may need a second ACL surgery one day, but if this is he case Bully Buddies can cover the costs of it..






Luna also really enjoys her couch, cuddling and lounging time and is a fab low-key best buddy.  She is not a huge fan of rain and still needs some convincing that she needs to go outside to go potty when it is wet out... if Luna were a human she would definitely be a snow bird and head down to Florida every winter! As her back legs will never be perfect she would prefer a home with not too many stairs, and if someone has a high up truck or SUV then she may need a lift into it.
