Meet Bitty Boo- Sponsor Me!

Boo is being sponsored by Giigi in memory of Fei Choo, Barb, Wendy in Southern California, and Gloria in memory of BB alumni Silver and good old Abe, whom both lived to be a bit grey in the muzzle like our Boo! Thank-you to Boo's foster mom Simone for making animal accessory items and donating the proceeds towards Boo's bills!

Hi there, I'm Itty Bitty Boo, but I generally just go by Boo. They also call me Trufflepig sometimes. Now don't get excited, I won't find truffles for you but apparently I do sound like one when I'm taking in the latest news when out and about. My foster parents say it's delightful! Apparently I also snore and that it's even more adorable. They say that I'm a character and make them laugh a lot.

I was found as a stray wandering the streets a few months back and the folks at the shelter and at the vet figured I was about ~15 years old. I had an inguinal hernia repaired and had a dental. Please don't have my age put you off - I'm a BADASS and have no plans to even retire yet, I have places to see and things to do!

I LOVE to go for walks! I want to go out every 4 hours and let my parents know that I'm ready by scratching at the door. More frequent outings would be totally fine by me though! Rain or shine, I'm thrilled to go for a stroll and strut my stuff! I love to socialize with people and will walk up to strangers to say hello. I'm really affectionate, love belly rubs and like to give kisses. I'm ok to be picked up and held but I much rather be on my own feet. I'm a real dog, you know, not some fashion accessory. I'm an almighty squirrel hunter (I have never actually caught one but that doesn't stop me from trying) and also like to chase skunks so best is to keep me on leash when out and about.

I'm not fond of cats, I chase them pretty relentlessly. Just a few weeks ago, I would snarl at every dog out there but my foster mom said that it makes it harder for me to find a home so I have been trying really hard and have been making friends. I might do ok with going to a home with another dog as long as the dog isn't very hyper and is respectful of me. You see, I've had a too many litters in my life and deserve to just take it easy now. So if you have a dog, we'd definitely have to meet beforehand.

When I first arrived in foster care, I didn't know any tricks but now I know how to sit, lay down, come, spin and sit pretty. I walk nicely on the leash too! I scratch the door when I want outside and I move my little bowl around when I want more wet food. I like to work for treats and praise. I'm a smart girl! I'm not yappy at all like a lot of people seem to expect from a Chihuahua, I hardly ever bark. So apartment living is totally fine by me!

I'm only 5 lbs and because I'm so small, I'm prone to Hypoglycemia. I need small but frequent meals throughout the day. Because of that and the fact that I like to go out every 4 hours, I need a home where somebody is home a lot, can take me to work with them or can hire a dog walker to give me a quick meal and take me for a stroll. I have a slight heart murmur and am on Lasix twice daily because of that. My meds are cheap (~$10/month) and if you hide it in a tiny ball of my wet food, I gobble it right up. I'm blind in one eye but that doesn't stop me one bit.

If you think I might be the one for you, please fill out an application and tell me more about you! I look forward to hearing from you!
