Meet TX-Liberty ADOPTED!

PLEASE BE SURE YOU ARE REACHING THE ORIGINAL, ONLY & REAL DOODLE RESCUE COLLECTIVE INC.

LIBERTY HAS BEEN ADOPTED!

Poor Liberty (formerly "Leila") was through quite an ordeal before finally ending up safe and sound here with Doodle Rescue Collective Inc. She nearly lost her young life because of people's irresponsibility and negligence.

LIBERTY'S STORY

Liberty's original family purchased her as an 8 week old puppy from a breeder. When family issues with young children in the house made it impossible for the family to continue to keep her, they surrendered her to what they thought was a "rescue" and Liberty was "adopted."

In her new home for less than 2 months, Liberty suddenly became ill. When she was unable to eat or defecate the family did nothing for several days.  When Liberty finally became so ill she began  vomiting and crying in excruciating pain with a distended belly, her new owners finally sought emergency veterinary assistance.  X-rays revealed that Liberty was suffering with a life-threatening bowel-obstruction caused by her ingestion of what we later learned was a two foot long nylon knee sock! By the time this family arrived at the clinic Liberty was in critical condition. When informed that Liberty needed $3000 in emergency surgery to remove the obstruction, and save her life, the owners refused treatment and instructed the vet to put poor, sweet Liberty to sleep!

Thankfully, this wonderful vet could not bear the thought of putting a beautiful, young, otherwise perfectly healthy dog down. Especially when she was only suffering because of human neglect and irresponsibility. So he had Liberty's new owners sign her over to the custody of the clinic and immediately contacted Doodle Rescue Collective, Inc. for help. Needless to say Liberty had her surgery, recovered beautifully and now has a wonderful new life and family!

Liberty's foster mom reported "I am so sorry for needing to express my outrage and disgust in regards to what was done to this beautiful young girl, but I cannot remain silent. Liberty (as we renamed her because she was truly liberated) is the sweetest, most loving lap dog I have ever fostered. She is just so precious it breaks my heart to think she came so close to losing her life because of despicable humans! She is the happiest, friendliest, most well-behaved little girl who did not deserve to have this happen to her."

"I was so horrified when the emergency vet told me the family that surrendered her said they were not bonded with her or attached. Of course they would say that! They are the ones who let her swallow a sock and then left her in agony for nearly a week before seeking veterinary care! Then they wanted her euthanized when it came down to parting with money to save her life!

Liberty is an amazing little girl with a special spirit. She didn't deserve the hand she was dealt. No animal deserves to be used in the way that Liberty was used and then cast aside by irresponsible humans. Liberty is finally where she was always meant to be. A wonderful forever home with a loving family thanks to the efforts of this extraordinary vet and the REAL Doodle Rescue Collective."
