Sleepy Ranger Border Terrier & Shih Tzu Mix Houston, TX

Hi there, my name is Sleepy. I like toys, taking walks and play, play, playing. My foster family says I am a very affectionate and sweet pup. I do like to cuddle up on the sofa with my people, giving kisses and enjoying lots of belly rubs. I enjoy their attention and don’t really like to be by myself too much. My dream home would be a family that is very active and can help me use up my energy or a home with another young playful pup to do the trick. I alternate between cuddling and playing so it’s the best of both worlds. My Shih Tzu side makes me an affectionate, lap-dog, love everyone kind of a guy. My terrier side is my bug chasing, alert for danger, always on the ready for action side. I ride really well in the car, enjoy looking out the window at all the sights. I have a good appetite and will sit up for treats, to be let outside or to come up on the sofa with you. You can see this talent in my photo. My hair is a handsome golden color and I like to be brushed a lot. Things I am working on learning: (1) I am doing well on learning my house-training behavior. I didn’t have these manners at first but I am making good progress. (2) I get very excited when I see other dogs and so I am also working on my good doggy manners-to be calm when I first see my new playmate. (3)Distractions on a walk. You know it is a challenge for my terrier side to be calm in the presence of squirrels, cats, and all the other fascinating things you find outside on walks. If you are interested in my sweet, loving, cuddly Shih Tzu side and are up to working with me on my Terrier side, I would really like to be your pup! I promise it will be worth it. I’ll be waiting…love Sleepy.
