KID TESTED MOTHER APPROVED

Poptart is a 1 yr old female shih-tzu/Jack Russell Terrier mix who is looking for a new forever home. She has been living with small children, and does fine with them. Poptart came into rescue with her brother, and is awaiting a new home. Her previous owner changed her work schedule and is not home enough to have dogs. She surrendered this darling little girl so she would get a home where she will have more attention. Poptart is house trained, completely vetted and ready to go to her new home. This is a very nice little one who deserves a loving family. If you think Poptart might be a good fit for your family, please contact Debbie at debwolfecorgis@gmail.com or fill out the application below.
We require a fenced yard if there are kids under the age of 12 in the home.
Adopting a dog that has been moved from a home to a shelter and then to a rescue is not for everyone. It takes time and patience to make that dog feel at home in his new environment. It takes at least 1 week and usually up to a month for a dog to acclimate to your schedule and home. An animal shelter is the most stressful place for a dog to be, with other dogs barking and not knowing what is happening around them. Some dogs come to their new home scared and timid. They will sometimes take several days before they start eating and have anything to do with the new adopters.

PLEASE, if you aren't willing to work with your new rescue and let them get to know you at their own pace, please don't apply for one of my dogs. Returning a dog within 24-48 hours of picking it up is hard on the dog and hard on the rescuer. Go to a breeder if you want a cute little puppy that wags its tail when he sees you. He hasn't been through what a rescue dog has been through.

It's not easy rescuing a dog. It takes patience and time and LOVE. These dogs need love and understanding, not another rejection.
