Meet Sal, a 14 year old male Cocker Spaniel who could really use a Pal. Sal was recently surrendered to the Manhattan Shelter with his housemate, a senior Labrador named Cobain, after many years of loyal service to the family that they loved. Sadly, both dogs were dumped by their owner simply because they had become too old. Although we would like to place both dogs together, Sal and Cobain are prepared to part ways if it will help them live their golden years in loving, forever homes. Sal is a very spritely senior, full of happy energy. Despite his age, he can run circles around us (and regularly does). With his superior temperament, Sal is true spokesman for his breed, so gentle and trustworthy that we would place him with a toddler. Sal has been neutered, microchipped, is current on all shots, and has tested negative for heartworm. He will be completely vetted including a full dentistry before going home. Sal will be professionally groomed before adoption and will go home with a new leash and collar.
