Age: 3 yrs old
Good with dogs: Yes
Good with cats: Yes
Good with kids: Yes, but has nipped at a young child when she was poked in the eye so we will only place her with older, dog savvy kids
Weight: 70 lbs
Name/Nicknames: Lucy

My Story: My family surrendered me due to do no fault of my own. I lived in a shelter in Iowa for 10 months before coming up here to live with my foster dad!

Hobbies: I love nice long walks. Life doesn't get much better while I'm taking a walk. I also like to play with my foster dad.

Commands/Tricks: I can sit, shake, stay, and is working on "down"

Crate / Potty Trained: I am totally potty trained however, I do not want to go into a crate. I've spent too much time in a kennel and I'd rather not spend any more time in one. Right now I am confined to a small room while my foster dad is at work and that is perfect!

Activity Level: Medium. I need to go for my daily walks, however, they don't have to be too long. I also like to play a little bit with toys and my humans.  Basically, 90% of the time I am very mellow, but I do want my walk each day!

Fun things I do: I am still getting used to being in a house. It has been a while since I have been in one so I have been pretty low key. I like to nap on a pillow and I have a bento ball that keeps me entertained. I also like to spend time outside.

Socialization/who I currently live with: I live with my foster dad and his large breed male dog. Previously I lived with a single female, her dog and her cat and I did fine with everyone!

My Ideal Family: I would be happy with any type of family. I am pretty strong though, so I might be a little much for an older person/couple. I really need to lose weight so I'd be best with a family that is willing to walk me on a daily basis. I also think a fenced in yard would be good, because I like to sniff and sometimes forget where the end of the property is. I do not bark much; just when I want you to play with me and when I want to come in from being outside, however, when I do bark, it is pretty loud. I can't help it - it is in my breed!

Lucy is attending Pet Haven's medium/large dog adoption events and her adoption fee is $300 (cash or check only) and includes spay/neuter, heartworm check, current vaccinations, and microchip and registration.

Due to post-adoption services provided, it is Pet Haven's policy to only place dogs into homes within a 60-mile radius of the Twin Cities area.
