Meet Pete

Hi! My name is Pete. I'm a super silly, friendly, happy-go-lucky clown. I love to run and play with my toys. I throw them up in the air, pounce on them, carry them around - self entertaining. I have a blast all on my own. I like it when someone throws a ball for me and I chase it down, but I don't usually bring it back. That fetch thing is for retrievers. I'm a very loving boy and super quiet. I only bark if I have something to say. I enjoy other dogs but I don't have to live with one. I'm very active, energetic and playful. I would love to have a jogging partner or go camping in the warm weather. I like to exercise. I'm a smart dog and a people pleaser. I learn quick and I listen. I am focused and responsive, which makes training with me lots of fun cause I'm good at it and I enjoy it. I know when it's time to work and I will look at you and wait for my command. I know "sit" and "lie down." I want a leader, someone to look to for direction and instruction. The routine and consistency is good for me and makes me feel safe, secure and balanced. I walk well on a leash if that's what you want me to do, but I'll pull you down the road too if you don't take charge. I am housetrained and crate trained. I will walk right into my crate when I'm asked, even when I don't want to go in there. I have an upbeat, happy and joyful kind of spirit - a personality that will brighten everyone's day. My happiness is contagious. You can't help but smile and laugh when you're with me. I'm just that kind of lovable goofball. Please give me a home to call me own. Adoption fee: $75 and includes vaccinations and neuter.

Adoption Process:
Complete the application at the link above or send an email to info@pawsforliferescue.org to tell us which pet you're interested in and we'll send you a questionnaire that will help us make the best match for you and your new pet. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. This is a pending period to give your dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
