8/23/12: Maybelline is an adorable one year old Puggle. She's definitely a cuddler and she really enjoys sitting with someone and being petted and loved on. She loves belly rubs, too!

Maybelline is very friendly when she meets most people, but occasionally she'll be nervous with someone she's never met before. She'd do best in a fairly quiet home and one without children. More socializing will most likely help her overcome that fear she sometimes displays. Maybelline also gets along with most dogs. She is house trained.

Maybelline had been hit by a car before we met her at KCK Animal Control. We transferred her to our care so that we could get her the veterinary care she needed. Her pelvis had been fractured, and she had severe nerve damage to one leg. Sadly, that leg had to be amputated. Her pelvis has healed now and she does well getting around on three legs.

Maybelline has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and tested for heartworms. She weighs 26 lbs.

> Our goal is to send you home with a healthy pet and any information and support you may need to help your new pet adjust to his or her new home. All of our dogs & puppies have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas & ticks, tested for heartworms (7 mo. and over), and are on monthly heartworm preventative. Puppies who are too young to receive all the necessary puppy boosters and/or first rabies shot may be brought back to us for those vaccines at no extra charge. You will also receive a leash, collar, 5 lbs of Science Diet, toys, and educational materials. And we'll give your dog a bath before he or she goes home!

> Please note that most of our dogs do require a fenced yard, although there may some who are appropriate for apartment living or circumstances where a fence may not be required.

An application is required to adopt a pet and applicants must meet our adoption requirements. If you decide you'd like to adopt one of our pets, we reserve the pet for you but we generally don't send the pet home with you that same day.
