Meet Shea

Hi there, I’m li’l Shea. I was found by the side of the road around Christmas. A nice lady kept me on her porch and fed me milk until LWR could rescue me. I weighed 8 pounds and was undernourished. I’ve had a nice bath, my hair blow-dried, some veterinary attention, and many good meals since then. I feel beautiful and loved! Now I weigh 22 pounds, have a lovely blue coat, and I’m learning how to be a good house dog. My big Weim brother and sisters are helping me with the house training and keeping me busy. I love playing fetch and learning new things. I am very sweet and like to cuddle with you at night, in bed, or any other time you need cuddle time. If foster parents are gone, I can stay in my crate for up to 4 hours at a time. I like to see my dog friends when I’m crated. It makes me feel not-so-alone. I am around 4 months old, and not 100% Weim . . . you may have noticed. I managed to trick the LWR volunteers into thinking I was a Weim with bad (good!) lighting and carnival mirrors when they first met me. The vet thinks I am mixed with a lab, which is fine, they are nice dogs too. It doesn’t make me less lovable! Because of all the stress I have endured in my young life, I broke with a stress-induced condition called demodex, but I am over that now and fine! While I was visiting the vet on a couple occasions, I was introduced to cats. They didn’t really impress me all that much one way or the other, so I could probably live with them if you introduce us properly and monitor our actions for awhile. I am being fostered in Indianapolis IN!

If you are interested in this Weim, please go to www.louisvilleweimrescue.com and fill out an adoption application. Please understand that we are all volunteers and have jobs outside of the rescue, etc. To help us work more efficiently, please complete an application PRIOR to calling us. Once we receive your application and know that you are serious about adopting one of our Weimaraners an adoption coordinator will contact you.
