Iris Cocker Spaniel Flushing, NY

Meet Iris, a senior female Cockapoo, 8-10 years old, who comes to us from the Manhattan Shelter, where she was turned in as a stray. If Iris could say one thing to you, it would be, "Take it easy, please, I don't see so good." She is visually impaired, so is rather uncertain and can startle easily. One can only imagine her distress at finding herself lost in the urban jungle, hardly being able to see. There's just no way she could find her way home again (not that anyone came looking for her, clearly she was simply dumped). Other than her visual impairment, Iris is a very healthy girl. She has been spayed, microchipped, received all of her shots, and tested negative for heartworm. She will shortly be treated to a dental cleaning and will be professionally groomed before going home. As you may know, the Iris is quite a delicate flower, but graceful and elegant, just like our senior lady here.
