Trinket is the smaller of the two (just under six pounds) and has more white on her face than her sister Tiki. Although the white may make her look like she's older, she's somewhere between 18 months and 2 years old, we are told. Trinket also has the tip of each of her four paws with white hairs, almost as if she tip-toe'd through white paint! She is very social and friendly although a bit shy still with all the new surroundings. She is not much of a barker but I have heard her speak once or twice. She loves to be held and petted and will make an incredible lap dog. Housetraining is a work in progress, but she's only been here a few days. She sleeps in a large crate with her sister and does not mess in her crate. She's learning to eat kibble out of a bowl. I assume in her previous environment her food was just dumped on a floor of her cage so here, she keeps pawing at the food dish until she tips it over and then eats from the floor. When I see her do this, I am correcting her and the last time she ate she did take a few pieces of kibble from the dish without dumping it over first. She's an absolute doll and all you have to do is look at her and you're rewarded with that beautiful tail going non-stop, wagging in happiness. A few words from me: My goodness, how life has changed in such a short time. I started out in a place that just wanted to use me (and my sister) to breed new babies for people to buy and there was no consideration for me or my life. I lived in a crate, ate in a crate, went potty in a crate because that's all I had. Then something changed - someone took me from there and sent me to Canada (I'm originally from Ohio) and now I have a warm place to live and sleep, food in my belly when I'm hungry, freedom to roam around and explore and I don't ever have to have babies again. My foster mom tells me that even if I wanted to, I can't because they removed those parts from me. I would love a new home where someone can work with me on this potty issue that I'm experiencing as well as take me for regular walks so I can learn what that is like. I will return the favour by giving many many kisses and lots of snuggles, I promise. I have not yet learned what steps are so patience will be needed in my new home as I experience things as if I were a brand new puppy.
