Ben and Felix are two of our featured holiday cats in the hopes that they might finally find a loving family to adopt them.

Brothers Ben and Felix have been living outside for a full year-ever since their owner was taken to a nursing home and never returned. They have been fed by a neighbor once per day but have been longing to belong to someone and be house cats again. Felix has a sweet face, is gentle and well-behaved, even though he is a shy boy. He is also FIV-positive, but does not require medication or any special handling because of it. All he needs is someone to make sure he's healthy and a good, nutritious diet. Because he is shy, he needs plenty of time and gentle patience. As he gradually gets more comfortable with his surroundings, he can be found grooming or sleeping with his brother Ben and occasionally relaxing on a windowsill, watching what's going on outside. While he needs more time than some other cats to get used to a new place, he makes steady progress. Ben is a teddy bear who loves being petted, brushed and scratched on his back near his tail. He purrs easily when petted and likes being close by without getting underfoot. He also enjoys chasing and chewing on a feather toy and he's very diligent about making sure you know when it's mealtime. The boys are hyperthyrpid but its 100% controlled with diet.  Both boys have excellent manners - good with the litterbox, not scratching furniture, not jumping up on countertops or tables and are quiet at night. Both are comfortable with being left alone while you're out of the house. They would do best in a quiet household with no other cats. While they may have some special needs, Ben and Felix are really pretty easy to care for and their routine is not complicated and is much like that of other cats. In return for a little extra care, you'll be rewarded with two sweet, gentle companions who make excellent roommates.
