Meet Champ

CHAMP Male 9 yrs $125

My name is Champ – and yes, I am a champion senior boy! I’m 10 years young, and I’m a happy, loving pug, always willing to go on a walk – it does need to be a stroll, really – or to cuddle next to you on the couch. I’m really good at getting up beside you, but sometimes the way down looks a little steep, and I want help with that. Foster mom has me on a diet; she thinks I need to lose a few pounds and my soulful looks haven’t done much to budge her. So I suppose I’ll lose some weight.

I came into rescue with my buddy Simba, but we weren't a package deal like some pugs. Good thing, because Simba met someone who couldn't live without him - lucky boy!

I’m happy snoozing beside one of the other boys here at my foster home. I would like to be in a home with another dog, because my eyesight isn’t all it used to be, and sometimes it’s good to have a buddy around to figure out what’s going on! I get along with all the other dogs here, as well as with the cat, who does seem to have taken over the back of the couch, which keeps us dogs off it.

I’m pretty healthy, and like most dogs of my seasoned age, I like to doze a lot, and will do that right at your feet, wherever you are. When you’re ready to move, I will be too! I’ll be at some of these APARN events, so come by and meet me! Like all APARN pugs, I have all my shots, am microchipped, neutered, and ready to go!

Update: 5/27/12 Well, we had quite an adventure here. I was involved in a bit of a tussle, and my jaw was fractured! Turns out I had a very infected tooth, and that weakened the bone, and I ended up at the vet’s for a few days. They took care of the jaw, got rid of the bad teeth, and I’m back home with an ample supply of antibiotics and pain pills. I feel great!! Better than I had in quite a while; problem teeth can really get one down. The doc had met me some months ago, and couldn’t believe I was the same dog – I’ve lost nearly 10 pounds – from a chunky 32 lbs to a svelt 22 lbs! Foster mom was really beside herself with pride on that change. And being trim keeps me active and will keep evil things like arthritis at bay. So come meet the new me one of these days!
