Update 6-18-12 After 6 months in rescue i know this boy pretty well. He is very fearful of new people and needs a dog experienced home without a lot of traffic. His response to his fear is to act tough and try to scare newcomers away but once you earn his trust he is absolutely wonderful. Loyal, sweet and gorgeous he is well worth the extra time it takes to get to know him. Found as a stray we don't know his history but obviously is wasn't good. He is a very special boy who wouldn't have been given the chance almost anywhere else. 11-26-11 Jethro was pulled from our local pound when his time was up. Just a little over a year old so basically still a puppy. He fetches, already knows sit and has learned to take treats nicely in the few days he has been here. Has been with friendly female dogs and got along fine. Male dogs and cats are unknown. Has had no accidents in his kennel so may be house trained? Loves to be with his people and can get pretty noisy when separated. Sometimes timid with new people, especially men, but treats quickly win him over! He will need either a fenced yard or a family committed to keeping him safe and seeing he gets plenty of exercise. He is a strong, determined dog who will need an owner willing to continue his training. Of course fully vetted, neutered, all vaccines, heartworm tested and will be micro-chipped prior to adoption (done). Please e-mail for an application.
