Gaston Papillon Louisa, VA

Minnette (also known as Minnie) and Gaston are 4 year old purebred papillon dogs who are looking for a new home. They get along with dogs and cats, and even farm animals. This brother and sister have been together all their lives so we would like to see them be adopted together, although it is possible they would do fine if adopted to separate homes.

Except for regular visits to the vet, their elderly owner kept them inside for all of their lives. Now they enjoy the outdoors and will play and do their business outside. Even with the colder winter temperatures, they both love to run around outside.

At a recent adoption event they did fine amid all the excitement of kids and dogs running around. Gaston is the leader and he is eager to please anyone. Minnie is more laid back and, once she gets to know you, she just wants to be near you or held. Their foster mom has observed Gaston take a treat and give it to his sister, then come back for one for himself. What a nice brother!

Minnie is more of a drama queen and gets nervous, while Gaston is more outgoing and has a calming effect on his sister. They enjoy car rides and are doing well with housetraining. Their morning routine consists first of getting lots of hugs, then going outside to do their business. Once they come back inside, they are eager for breakfast, which is measured out. Gaston is close to a healthy weight, and Minnie has a few pounds to go. She is very food driven and their new family will need to continue the routine. The adoption fee is $175 for each dog, which includes spay/neuter, test for heartworms, and  age-appropriate vaccines, including rabies, parvo and distemper.
