Lito Chocolate Labrador Retriever & Chesapeake Bay Retriever Mix Willits, CA

Lito is an almost 6 year old, (April 2012) 80 pound, Chocolate Lab/Chessie mix. He was rescued when his owner lost his home and was threatening to shoot Lito and his sister. A Humane Society in Oregon took the sister but would not take Lito because he has a thyroid condition. When Lito arrived in rescue he had not been on his thyroid medication in years so his coat was very dry and dull as you can see in the pictures. Now that he has been on his medication for a few months his coat is in much better shape but still the dry grass color of a Chessie. Lito has gone to vet to have a full blood panel work up done and he passed with flying colors. His thyroid condition is totally under control by one pill, twice a day that cost about $20/month. If you decide to adopt Lito rescue will supply you with a years supply of his medication. Lito is in excellent shape and not overweight anymore either and loves to go for walks.

Lito is a very sweet mellow boy and likes nothing better than snuggling up by you or better yet right with you on the couch to watch TV in the evenings. He is house and crate trained and gets along with other dogs well. He currently lives with a very bossy female lab mix that gets in his face every so often and he just ignores her.
