Buddy wants to be your buddy, he’s just now learning how! Buddy is estimated to be about 3 years old, weighs 51 pounds and is 17 inches in shoulder height. He arrived at the Shelter on 10/17/11, very unsure and distrustful. After evaluation by our dog trainer, it seems that he was highly abused and extremely neglected in socialization skills. We don’t even want to imagine what this poor guy has gone through!

In time, little by little, Buddy has learned to trust us (the staff and volunteers), and is an absolute love to those he knows. He’s still unsure with strangers and needs time to warm up, but he is learning to trust outsiders. We know that with patience, love, and understanding, Buddy will become your best friend and “buddy” forever.

UPDATE: Buddy is learning to trust and wagging his tail for the wonderful volunteers who take him for his walks. He knows 'sit,' 'down’ and even 'roll over' for his belly rubs. Buddy has amazing potential if only someone would give him a chance. Please call the Shelter to learn more: 203-977-4437.
