Rusty is the most handsome boy with a beautiful red coat. He arrived on 10/4/11, weighs 59 pounds, is 16 inches in shoulder height, and estimated to be about 4 years young.

We received Rusty's DNA results and he is shown to be primarily a boxer/ miniature bull terrier cross on one side, and a mixed breed on the other side. These printed results will be given to Rusty's new owner for their records.

Rusty was very stressed when he first arrived at the Shelter, but with the help and dedication of volunteers he has shown his trust and love in them.  It appears that he may have come from a difficult life, but he's ready to make the change into a loving, warm, calm environment where he can be part of your family forever.


Taking Rusty for a long walk, just the two of you, he relaxes and becomes a love bug with kisses and manners. He knows his 'sit' and 'paw' commands, and is just aching to be what you want him to be. With the right guidance and training, he'll be a wonderful addition to any home.

The Shelter is open 7 days a week from 8 am to 4 pm, and late on Wednesday evenings (due to OPIN's free dog training at 6:30 pm) - no appointment necessary!
