Rusty Shepherd & Hound Mix Riverdale, NJ

Hi, My Name is Rusty. I am a six month old Shepherd mix. I used to have a family that loved me and my sister. I remember all the great times of running around in the yard with her and my "family" The loved me and I loved them. One day we went for a car ride. I thought we were going somewhere fun, like the pet store, or dog park. When we got to our destination, I knew we were nowhere fun. Our "family" had brought us to the shelter. It was cold and scary. I thought we weren't going to make it our alive. My sister and I still had each other but we feared for out lives! Fortunately, The nice shelter staff took some really nice pictures of us and sent them to Purrs N Pups. The Volunteers at Purrs N Pups in NJ fell in love. They then arranged for a transport. My sister and I along with 46 other animals were brought up from VA to Purrs N Pups in NJ. I am now in a foster home. My sister is not with me but that is okay because I know she is just as SAFE as me! In my foster home I am getting along with my foster sister (dog) and my human foster family. I like to play with kids but I am a little "big" for my age so sometimes I underestimate how hard I wag my tail, or I will forget how big I am and may jump. I am only 6 months old. I am still in training. My foster mom is teaching me sit. I walk nicely on a leash and I am fantastic when I see other dogs and people while on a walk. I am fixed and up to date on all vaccinations. I am working on housebreaking but, I have been in so many new places that I am more worried about knowing where I am then worrying about going to the bathroom. I think i'm catching on to it tho. I really am a good dog and would love a family that wants a BIG dog! Don't just look past me because I am six months old! That 8 week old puppy you want will be as big as me someday!! Please take ME home!! I need a REAL family that will LOVE me!!
