Sammy Italian Greyhound Omaha, NE

Sammy is a 7 year old neutered male. He is a sable color, which is almost a red-fawn mix with a lightly colored black stripe down his back. He was a part of a home breeding operation but is very sweet and willing to learn about how to be a dog from his new pack! He recently had a dental procedure and only lost one molar. He is a good eater and is doing extremely well on his potty training. He does not wear a belly band and has only made a few potty mistakes in the house. He goes outside with the other dogs and does not fuss in the kennel. He will walk on a leash with encouragement and still has to learn about stairs. He is good with cats, other Iggys and my two large lab mixes. He has a very sweet nature, always has a kiss and a wagging tail to greet you! Sammy is adjusting to being around people, and allows people to pick him up, even when in a backyard. He is being fostered in Omaha, NE.

Health: Vet work done on 10/14/11. All tests negative. Overall health noted as OK. A bit underweight. Previous vet records included.

Personality: He will allow people to pick him up but sometimes cowers and shakes. OK with being touched all over. OK with kids, other dogs - big and small. Not sure about cats. I think he will be a laid back IG once he settles in.

Bathroom habits: Will need belly band.

Crate trained: Fine if given ample outside bathroom opportunities. Needs to be coaxed out sometimes.

Grooming: Bath, nails, ears, anal glands all done on 10/13/11.

Commands known: None. Not leash trained.

Aggressive tendencies: None seen towards people or other animals.

Response to attention: Needs to be coaxed. Sometimes cowers or shakes. Fine once being held. I think he wants the attention but is just so unsure and nervous.
