Dex *DONATIONS NEEDED* Great Dane Waverly, IA

Dex was a stray that ended up in a shelter in NE Iowa. Waverly Pet Rescue pulled him because he was not even going to make it onto the adoption floor. That shelter was full plus he was super shy and had a few issues. He was going to go into a dog training Great Dane loving foster home. After we got him, realized with the small children in the foster home, we were not comfortable having him go there. He is a sweet boy that wants to love but is scared. Dex is getting better at walking up to people and letting them pet him. He does not like his collar pulled on or touched and when he sees the leash he growls. He has never bitten anyone but has mouthed at people when they tried to touch his collar. He just needs someone that is patient and has the time to work with him and help him realize these things are not scary. We would never ever send him back to the shelter so what we did was fully vet him and paid to board him for a month until we found him a wonderful no kill Great Dane rescue. He went to this rescue yesterday and they have a foster home with no children and they are able to work with him. He went there yesterday, 10/16/11. But we are asking for donations because we have a large vet bill to pay. It was worth it to save his life and to findf him rescue, but sure am hoping for donations since we do not have enough money to pay any of this bill. Total bill is $216.00 for vetting and $300 for boarding for a total of $516.00.
