And now, a few words from me:

My story is really kind of sad. Can you believe I am a purebred, registered with the Canadian Kennel Club and have my papers to prove it?  However, my owner surrendered me to this nice rescue because they didn’t have the time for me anymore.  It breaks my heart to think that after being a faithful companion all my life, they would give me away now that I am in my senior years.  I suppose it might be all for the best though, because I have been neglected for such a long time.  I was given away a year ago but then that person couldn’t keep me anymore and returned me to my original owner. I was then kept in a cage for up to 18 hours a day!  When I barked, they put a shock collar on me, and that only made me cry and howl because it hurt, and needless to say, that got me into trouble!

I am such a good dog…..really!  I absolutely LOVE the freedom I have now.  I can walk around all over the house wherever I want because my foster mom works from home so I am never alone.  I love my foster brothers and sisters.  I haven’t barked since I came to my foster home.  I am one happy boy right now!  At night I am quite contented to sleep in my little bed on the floor, next to my foster mom. I just need to know that someone is near.  Won’t someone please take me home and keep me and love me for the rest of my life???  I would really like to feel that I belong, and I promise I will be a very good dog.  You will not be sorry you chose me.

And now, a few words from my foster mom:

Toto is a very laid back, easygoing, friendly little guy who needs minimal exercise and would just love to cuddle with you while you watch TV.  He spent way too much time locked in a crate because his owner just didn’t have the time for him, but you could not ask for a sweeter little guy.  He loves everyone and his tail never stops wagging.  He appears to have been sadly neglected for much of his life and is just so happy to be able to be free to follow you around.  He is a contented little boy who loves everyone who will take the time to give him any attention.  He appears to be housetrained, and is a very good little boy.  He comes when called and walks well on a leash.

Because Toto has spent so much time alone, he is looking for someone who will be home most of the time.  A retired person or couple, or someone who works from home, would be perfect.  He would be heartbroken if he were left alone all day.  Another small, friendly dog or two would be wonderful because he is always after one of our other fosters trying to institute play.

We are hoping to find a home for Toto who will make up for all of the years of neglect he has suffered.  He needs so badly to find someone to love him and give him a forever home that he will never have to leave again.

Toto doesn’t appear to know how to play with toys……just so sad; but we are hoping to change that too.  He is surrounded with all kinds of toys.  Little Toto, you are dearly loved in your foster home, and we promise you that your forever home is just around the corner.  Would you like to be the lucky person to take Toto home?  For more info, please call carol@loyalrescue.com.
