Meet Max

Max is a wonderful dog. He knows basic commands, such as, sit, off, down and come. Also “gotta go pee” he will bark for yes or jump around. He enjoys chasing balls but doesn’t always bring them back. Max loves walks and is excited to go and will pull on the leash at first. Max is hilarious and has an old man type personality. He will kiss you only if he has to but loves to lay next to you. He is great to have a conversation with because he will stare at you and tilt his head side to side. He also doesn’t mind having his nose rubbed….lol He has fun chasing birds and squirrels in the backyard. He also likes to tumble in your bed blankets and make Tasmanian devil noises. If you hide his ball in them he will desperately try to find it.

This 9 year old schnoodle has lived with dogs and cats all his life. He was with the same family since he was a pup, but did not adjust well to the baby and the toddler, despite the patient efforts of his owner. Like some people, he’s just not into kids. (He does not attack them, but he doesn't enjoy their company either.)

The reason we note him as a “Special Needs” dog is because he has an oily skin condition which requires him to be bathed every week or so with Sulfodene (a regular medicated shampoo) to prevent a build up of the skin oils which leads to hotspots and skin irritation. He takes his bath good naturedly. And while all schnoodles should go to the groomer periodically, in his case it is a must to keep his condition in check. BTW - his fur is nice to the touch. Also, Max is a free spirit and crates are definitely not for him.

This wry, comical gentleman would do best in a mature adult household and without young children.  He would love to keep someone company many hours a day, enjoy long walks and snuggle into your heart.
