Meet Tulip! If you are looking for a laid-back cat that would get along in just about any situation, then Tulip is your Gal!! -- A nice family found her lost, scared and alone in Colebrook, NH with 5 baby kittens. They searched and searched for her family and could not find them, so Tulip and her fur babies found themselves at the Conway shelter. Tulip was a great mom! Her last kitten went to his forever home on October 3rd - while she is happy to be warm and fed, she is VERY ready to move on to the next phase of her life and find herself a forever home too!

Tulip is a beautiful petite love bug with lots of love to give!. She is incredibly sweet and wonderful company; she loves to be petted and will reward you with lots of purring. Tulip loves to play, favors catnip and is very comfortable with coming out to seek affection, or to just lounge around for the day on your sofa with you! She has been living in the community room for several weeks and gets along fine with the other cats. Please come meet and fall in love with this special girl with a gentle personality!

Black cats are routinely overlooked by potential adopters for a variety of reasons - superstition, they don't photograph well, they aren't distinctive, and there are so many of them in shelters that they just don't stand out like the colorful calico or orange tabby. In many cases, the black cats simply don't make a connection with potential adopters in a poorly lit cage.

Potential adopters need to be aware of the equally large number of GOOD reasons to adopt a black cat. Black cats have a common characteristic of being easy-going and good-natured. They have so much love to offer and ask for so little in return. Black cats do not all look alike and if you look closely you will see that they are truly gorgeous and regal creatures. The glossy satin sheen of a black cat is unlike any other. When their fur catches the light, it shimmers.

Give a black cat a chance - their playful, easygoing attitude will charm you into making them a permanent part of your family.

Tulip would be thankful to find her forever family, contact us at 603-447-5955 or email info@conwayshelter.org for more information on this beauty!

Love this cat but not ready to add another pet to your family? Did you know about our Kennel Sponsor Adoption Program? Sponsor all or part of this adorable cat's $90 adoption fee to help him/her get a forever home faster!!! Just email us at info@conwayshelter.org for details.

All cats and dogs are spayed or neutered, vaccinated with rabies and distemper according to age, tested for diseases such as feline leukemia, feline AIDS, and heartworm, and also provided with a de-worming and flea medication. These procedures can save an adopter about $300! Another benefit to adoption is that you have the support from the adoption staff if problems arise with your newly adopted pet.

The shelter will give you a discount coupon to pick up supplies for your new pet at the local pet supply store, Four Your Paws Only and a certificate to get a free first exam at one of the shelter’s local veterinary hospitals. To get started, just complete an adopter survey:
