MEET BENNY!- A beautiful 4 year old Goldendoodle boy
who is ready for a new forever home and family. He is 60 lbs. and he has a soft mixed wool/fleece, non-shedding coat that will require grooming.



Benny was surrendered to DRC because his devastated family downsized from a home with a large yard to a condo and Benny did not adjust well in his new situation. He is a devoted, sweet, loving, well-mannered snuggle bug and an absolute love with all people. But the stress of the move and other factors made him anxious and he was becoming reactive with other dogs in his neighborhood. Benny is a great dog! He just does not do well with other dogs particularly those that are smaller.



We have confirmed via our vet that Benny has low to no thyroid function and he will have to be on inexpensive thyroid medication for the rest of his life. This is a large part of the reason that Benny has been reactive with other dogs. Benny is also a pushy guy and wants all of the attention and would not do well in a home with small children. He will need to be the only dog in a dog savvy adult home with a family willing to work with him on training and who will not put him into situations where he is set up to fail. A fenced in yard is a MUST.



Benny has no human aggression issues. But he does have a strong personality and can be stubborn, obstinate and pushy. He is in fact a highly people focused ad devoted dog who loves to play fetch in his yard, snuggle with his humans and lay at their feet. He just needs to be made aware of the rules. He in completely house and obedience trained, knows most basic commands, walks well on a leash, and his highly praise motivated. Benny is literally a perfect dog in his own controlled environment and with the right family.



Benny has been evaluated by a professional dog trainer and behaviorist and he passed with flying colors. The consensus is that with love, patience and proper guidance, Benny will learn to overcome his fears. and become the well-adjusted happy-go-lucky dog he was always meant to be. Benny is a very special boy who deserves nothing less than a very special home and family and a chance for a happy life. Benny is neutered, micro-chipped and UTD on all vaccines and preventatives. He will be a wonderful addition to the right family.
