Meet Dori

10/18- DORI IS 4 MONTHS TODAY!!! Dori is now officially housebroken and by far the best pup we have ever had in foster. She doesn't chew, she doesn't need to sleep in a crate anymore, and knows how to use a dog door! She is FANTASTIC!! Great with the two year old in the foster home... gentle and playful but not overbearing at all.

UPDATE 10/6- Dori is doing great in her foster home! She is already doing VERY well on her house training and has crate training down pat. She sleeps in the crate all night from 11pm-7am and knows how and when to use a doggy door! She hasn't had any accidents inside and was even left out with her older foster doggy siblings and was a very good girl! She is phenomenal with the 2 year old in her foster home, as well as the other dogs, large and small! We've gotten her food schedule down pat and she is no longer throwing up- we have it measured perfectly and she is doing fantastically! Bouncing around, playing with the other dogs... just a super happy little girl!

Dori is an adorable little 14 week old 24lb pure German Shepherd girl from champion lines (breeder) who was basically thrown away by the breeder because of the diagnosis of her condition. She couldn't sell Dori, so she was simply going to euthanize her... a very sad, but very common thing done by breeders. How anyone can "breed champion lines" yet have defects like this which ARE genetic, sickens all of us in the rescue world... but sadly, it keeps happening. For more info, read up on this link http://www.caninemegaesophagus.org/. Despite her condition, Dori is extremely sweet, playful, and very much a normal pup. She will need more regular feedings as stated above, and close monitoring of her water in take, but her love and devotion is that much more prominent in this little girl's personality. She will cling to you like glue and be forever faithful to her forever home and family. Dori is up to date on shots, spayed, micro-chipped and comes with a free month of pet insurance. Adoption fee $250.

Please fill out an online APPLICATION if you wish to adopt. The rescue suggests obedience training for all puppies and dogs. All dogs are up to date on their shots, dewormed and spayed or neutered.
