Meet Riggs IS ADOPTED

Updated October 17th..Introducing Riggs...WHAT A GREAT DOG. He is very handsome, very friendly, very kind, silly, 2-3 year old boy with a beautiful silky, shiney black coat and breathtaking brown eyes, he is much smaller then he appears weighing 50-55 pounds. His tail is a little fluffy and his fur is short like a lab, but a little thicker with a bit more depth. He This dog is really, really sweet, and just wants to be loved. In the video Riggs is the black lab mix with the green bandana on. You will begin to see him about 37 seconds into the video. Note how much smaller he really is in the video.

Riggs spent a couple days with me and let me tell you he is a great dog with tons of bouncy energy. He is great with the other dogs, the kitties, and fabulous with children. He would do really, really well with an active family and/or a family with active children. He is a huge snuggler. He jumped on the couch and very slowly crawled over to me, making sure it was o.k., to rest his head on my lap or gently moving my arm so he could snuggle under it. What a great, loving dog. Very sweet, and full of kisses. We have not seen any signs of food, toy or bone aggression, he could use some leash work, but he is very smart and learns quickly. He takes a treat very nicely and will even sit for it.

Riggs when to an adoption event and did really well with the younger children..he even kissed a baby. The foster mom who attended the adoption event with Riggs said this…”Riggs was given a bully stick to chew on and he showed no indication of resource guarding around people. People were petting him and he just chewed. He let me take it out of his mouth without a problem. He is an active dog and would make a terrific running or walking partner. He would also make a terrific pet for someone who active, playful children.

This beautiful lap dog rides very well in a car, and will happily sit in the passenger seat if you let me. No motion sickness seen and he really liked looking out the window or having it down. We have not observed any destructive chewing, but given his age of 2-3, he is probably past that already.

Riggs was rescued from Kendall County Animal Control when his days were up. Soooo glad we did as he is terrific! Riggs is being cared for by Central Bark Doggy Day Care in Oswego, which if your application is approved you would go to meet him. Please do not call them about visiting with Riggs. We don't know if Riggs is housebroken as he is being cared for at Central Bark Doggy Day Care in Oswego, but he does keep his crate clean, which is a good sign.

The adoption fee of $175.00 includes: His neutering which is already done, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, bordetalla vaccination for kennel couch, Lyme Vaccination, 3-year rabies vaccinated, up to date for Distemper-Adenovirus-Parainfluenza-Parvo-Lepto vaccination, treated monthly with flea preventative and heartworm preventative while in our care, and dewormed with panacur and droncit. You will also receive a free office visit to Crest Hill Cat and Dog Clinic, Yorkville Animal Hospital, Woodridge Animal Hospital or Wheaton Animal Hospital, a training dvd, and tons of coupons for Petco.

The adoption also comes with a free puppy/doggy class through Flydogs located at Central Bark Doggie Day Care in Oswego, which introduces you to housebreaking, name recognition, crate training, sit/stay and leash walking. This is one free class you really don't want to miss, and 10% off purchase of a 10-day care package for dogs attending Central Bark Doggy Day Care in Oswego.

If you would like to meet this absolutely terrific dog, please go to the angelsonwheelsanimalrescue.com website to download an adoption application. Please be sure your application is complete, or email sspratl@gmail.com and we would be happy to send you an application.
