Tortoise
Sulcata: A tortoise on hold in Baltimore, MD
If you would like your name put on a list to be contacted when we have tortoises available, please e-mail matts_adoptions@ hotmail.com (remove the space before the @). We occasionally are asked to place sulcatas, Russians, redfoots, and less often, other species, from various areas of the mid-Atlantic. A home in a more southern or southwestern state is preferred for sulcatas, since these tortoises need a lot of land to roam, and they DO NOT hibernate - so they need a warm indoor enclosure in the colder weather.
To learn more about Russian tortoises, visit www.russiantortoise.org
Visit www.sulcata-station.org to learn more about sulcatas. Shipping is possible if the adopter pays for shiping, which may run $100 - $250 depending on where you live. All potential sulcata adopters are encouraged to go to http://harpoandfriends.homestead.com...
