Meet Petey
Petey is an eight-year-young, medium energy, tri-color, 26 pound Rat Terrier. For the past three years, he has been waiting by the door for his forever family to find him. His snuggly toys, play balls, leash, and crate are packed. He is well mannered with dogs, cats, and people. When he meets a new family, his soul-searching eyes sparkle with hope, and his radar-like ears wait for, “Here boy!” However, his ears quickly droop when he hears them whisper, “Diabetes?” and they, like others before them, turn their backs on him. He wants everyone to know that although he has special-needs, his diabetes has been easily controlled with a closely monitored diet, daily exercise, and twice-daily insulin injections. (ARNNE will train and support his new, dedicated family with kids over 12, to administer the injections.) If you can overlook his special needs, and love him, he promises a lifetime of adoration, loyalty, and puppy kisses in return.
ARNNE supports the rescue/critical care/boarding expenses of local town/city animal control officers that otherwise only have authorization to vaccinate or euthanize. Every life is precious but it takes funds to save lives.
Adoption fees rarely cover the expenses of rescuing, boarding and providing exemplary medical care to the animals in our program. All animals have had a thorough exam, are treated for any parasites or infections, spay/neutered, current on vaccines and micro-chipped.
For more information, please fill out an adoption request form at www.arnne.org. Email or call the shelter at 603-233-4801 and a volunteer will return your call.
