Meet Buddy 2012

Update on Buddy....We apologize that an update on Buddy is long overdue. He has been in our program now since July 2011 and is now about 18-20 months old. He has come a long way in regard to manners and maturity but along with that have come some of the challenges a young male Great Pyrenees can present as they mature and breed characteristics emerge. Buddy requires a confident, dog (preferably Pyrenees)experienced owner with strong handing skills and a commitment to continued training and socialization. We feel he would do best in an adult home and also in a more rural setting with an ample fenced area/yard. He is about 87 pounds with a little more filling out to do and should always be kept at an appropriate weight due to an old injury to one of his front feet that does cause him some discomfort at times. Original Post... .Buddy is approximately 12 months old. He is going to be a smaller male as an adult. Buddy is friendly, has lots of energy and is still very much a puppy in behavior. He wants to play, play, play and needs plenty of exercise. Buddy has been working hard on learning proper manners having arrived without any training. He has spent some time with a professional trainer and we are now practicing his basic obedience to sharpen his skills and make mannerly behavior his new habits. Buddy is good with dogs (female)and cats. He keeps his kennel area clean but will need further house training and we are looking for an adopter who will absolutely continue his obedience training and help him mature into a well balanced and well behaved adult.

Please email cindybarch@gmail.com for an adoption application and more information. A securely fenced yard is required for adoption of our rescues with very few exceptions.
