Sheldon-*adopted* Yorkshire Terrier Jamestown, ND

*Adopted*- 9/1/2011...Sheldon has made great improvements since he first came to our rescue. He loves to interact with people and is very sociable. He loves to go for walks and gets along well with other dogs. We are confident that Sheldon will contine to improve if the adoptive family continues to work with him....Sheldon is a male Yorki estimated at 4-5 years old that came to us from a puppy mill. The conditions were he came from were less than desirable. When considering adoption of a puppy mill dog, keep in mind they need lots of time and understanding as they have lived their lives in cages and used to breed litter after litter. The foster home will start the process of socializing these dogs as human contact is usually minimal. Some have never been on grass, used stairs, or have even had a collar on..etc. Please consider before looking at the "cute picture" and realizing that this pet will take lots of love and patience with the adopters to adjust into becoming a loving pet. Sheldon will require a full secured fenced yard. Due to no fault of their own, they have not been exposed to anything other than a cage.
