Onyx -ADOPTED!! Rat Terrier & Manchester Terrier Mix Lebanon, OR

This is Onyx, a 7 1/2year old Rat Terrier mix (the family was told rat terrier/chihuahua, but we're thinking Manchester Terrier). She was originally adopted by the family from a Las Vegas shelter in 2006. The daughter came to live with the mother in Oregon and the apartment managers have given them "a few days" to find Onyx a new home. They also attempted to have her stay with the grandmother in an assisted living situation, but Onyx became too guarded in protecting gramma. While she's been in the family, she's gone with the owner to a nursing home where she nursed - all the residents loved having her there. Residents never made her feel threatened and she would cuddle up with them. She is a smart well-behaved dog except when nervous around new people or in a protective mode; then she tends to growl. She's completely house-broken, not a barker, and does not tear things up or chew on things. She's spayed up to date on her vaccines. She has also been micro-chipped. Because of her protectiveness of gramma, we are recommending adult homes with no small children. Her adoption fee is $150. She's fostering in Lebanon and we can make fairly quick arrangements to have you meet her in person. Are you the adult couple or family with older children that will give her that second chance (or really I guess it's a third chance)?
