Meander
Turtle: An adoptable turtle in Jenison, MI
Meander is a 5 year old common map turtle. He is an aquatic turtle who enjoys some time on land. He eats pellets formulated for turtles along with other things such as occasional aquatic plants, romaine lettuce, carrot shavings etc. He will require at minimum a 49 gallon aquarium, though a larger aquarium would be optimal. He requires a heat lamp, a UVB light placed over his basking spot for ~12 hours each day, a high powered filter, gravel, a siphon, an underwater heater and thermometer and places to bask such as a turtle dock, driftwood or floating cork bark. Adding aquarium plants will offer places for him to feel safe and protected. Because the average lifespan of a common map turtle is 30+ years, caring for a turtle is a very long term commitment. Meander is a foster turtle of West MI Critter Haven. His adoption fee is $15. For more information on adopting Meander please contact us at info@wmicritterhaven.org. Adopters must be...
