Abby Smith Labrador Retriever Mix Alpharetta, GA

Abby is a BEAUTIFUL 2 year old lab, golden retriever mix.  We adopted Abby at an adoption fair two years ago when she was 3 months old and she has been a joy and light in our lives since that time.  Abby lives with her little brother, Marvin the Chihuahua, and is comfortable around most dogs smaller than her yet still seems to be trying to figure out the bigger dogs.  Abby is a proud graduate of Dog School 101 and can sit, lay, fetch and “go home” (her crate) on command.  Abby is housebroken and barks to be let out.  She LOVES the outdoors and likes to run and chase the birds and her little brother.  Like most labs, Abby is a well-disciplined dog.  She wakes promptly at 6:30 and is ready for her bed by 9:30.  She is an active young lady, however, at 6 months she was diagnosed with bilateral hip dysplasia and suffers from weakness in her hind legs.  She has been seen and treated by Georgia Veterinary Specialists and is currently under the care of Terrell Mill Animal Hospital.  Abby’s weakness is controlled by giving her a ½ prednisone tablet every other day and low dose aspirin as needed for pain.  Abby is a smart, loving, sweet, sweet girl who loves to give plenty of kisses and hugs.  Our family agonizes over having to lose her but most relocate due to a job transfer to an area that wouldn’t be healthy for her.  Abby is best suited in a home with smaller dogs, cats and she loves children and loves attention.   She needs daily exercise to continue to strengthen her legs and hips. Abby is a soft, beautiful soul of an animal who will bring much love, happiness and companionship to the right owner who will be lucky enough to give her a forever home.
