Meet Nayla
ADOPTED DECEMBER 2011
Voted “best eyes in the shelter,” Nayla turns one year old in December. There’s something very sad about a dog celebrating her first birthday in a shelter … though there’s no doubt Nayla is far better off today than when she was found, tied to a tree by her owner who said he had too many dogs and was waiting for the SPCA to come euthanize her. Thank goodness fate had other plans for this cutie.
In the time she has spent with us, we've seen Nayla begin her transformation from a ball of manic puppy-energy into a happy, beautiful, more confident young dog. But Nayla is still a big puppy at heart with energy to burn and manners to learn. In training class, she has unbelievable focus and a tremendous desire to please. We expect her to blossom with the regular exercise and day-to-day routine of a real home. She'll make the perfect match for an active family … a great romp-and-roll buddy for another dog … and an adoring, endlessly entertaining playmate for kids.
We shudder to think how close Nayla came to NOT making it to her first birthday … then get giddy with excitement when we picture her celebrating with a family of her very own. We’ll bring the balloons!

All of our animals are spayed/neutered and current on shots.
You must complete an application at the shelter prior to meeting any of our animals. (Sorry--our application is not available on-line or via email.)
We do not do same-day adoptions; we ask that you return for a follow-up visit before taking an animal home.
We require a fenced yard (sorry--no invisible fences) for homes with children under age 13.
We do request vet and personal references.
At this time, we are only able to consider applicants within 150 miles of Cincinnati.
