ROSIE #2 was rescued in May, 2011. She is a family member of the "Mississippi Eight" which now brings the total number of dogs rescued from that situation to ten. This Rosie had been living with the deceased breeder's father who is now in a nursing home. She had better care than the others, but was still living outside. She is heartworm negative and was kept current on vaccinations. She presently has some hair loss due to fleas and a slightly low thyroid...now on inexpensive daily medication...and parasite free. Hi...my name is Rosie and I am looking for a home with someone that will love me and appreciate all my kisses and tailwags that I so willingly give. Ive spent most of my life on a tie-out, and let me tell you, its no fun. My foster mom Melanie says I deserve a home where I can spend those hot summer days in a cool house, and those cold winter days in a warm house, with a family, and have a big fenced yard to...

Hi...my name is Rosie and I am looking for a home with someone that will love me and appreciate all my kisses and tailwags that I so willingly give. Ive spent most of my life on a tie-out, and let me tell you, its no fun. My foster mom Melanie says I deserve a home where I can spend those hot summer days in a cool house, and those cold winter days in a warm house, with a family, and have a big fenced yard to enjoy. I do love to go on walksfoster mom says I dont realize how strong I am...she has to use a harness because I do tend to pull. I just get so enthusiastic 'cause you see, it had been years since anyone took me for walks and I was just on that tie out all the time. So, I am curious and want to chase everything birds, squirrels, rabbits. But especially cats..yes, I'm really obsessive about catching those cats, so I will have to find a family that doesnt have any. I get along great with my two Irish Setter foster brothers and love to play with them. But I haven't been very nice to Peaches, the spayed female Cocker who lives here too. So, my new home probably shouldn't have any female dogs. Im a nice size, and even though I have a few places on me where my coat is thin, its filling in now that I am flea free. Foster mom tells me every day how pretty I am. She says I have very pretty eyes and that my coat is very dark and shiney and when it fills in Im going to be even more beautiful! She says I am a princess so I hope thats a good thing! I don't care about challenging the 5' fence here, and I have been very good with my housetraining with no accidents. I love people, I love attention and to be brushed, I love car rides, and I especially love my recliner! Im waiting patiently for my new special family to love and plant all those kisses on. My birthdate is April 23, 2002 and I'm in foster care in Meridian, MS. ... ... ... ** Providing high quality medical care for our rescued Setters is expensive. The cost of vaccinations, routine procedures such as spays and neuters, and tests continues to increase. For those special-needs Setters requiring additional medical treatment - kennel cough, pneumonia, heartworm disease, extensive dental problems, diabetes, chronic otitis, enteropathies, hypothyroidism, tumors, orthopedic problems, specialized diagnostic procedures, and surgery - the expenses mount. Each Setter is a cherished member of our rescue family, and their foster families are committed to providing the best care for them. Please help us in our mission to *Rescue, *Rehabilitate, and *Rehome Setters by making a donation to sponsor a Setter. We can accept funds through PayPal via the "Donate" button, or you can visit the "Donations" page on our Magnolia website if you'd like to make your contribution in honor, or memory, of a loved one.
