Meet Exodus

Exodus is one special kitty and we love him. While this raggedy cat had lots of things working against him when he first came to us–his ear was all sliced up, he was missing fur all over his body, he had an engorged tick hanging off his earlobe, and he had a broken jaw–he had one major thing working in his favor: his personality. Exodus is the nicest cat you would ever want to meet.

We took him to the vet, because he had a lot of problems, the biggest one being his jaw. Whatever broke his jaw came up from the underside of his jaw (sort of like getting hit with an upper cut), pushing a tooth up into his upper palate and fracturing the bone. Fragments of bone were embedded in his nasal cavity. To me, this sounds like a kick. Most animals do not grab under the jaw. They go for the back of the neck. I hope some human did not do this to this cat. It makes my stomach ache to even think of it.

Exodus' jaw has now been fixed, but he will always have a lopsided face, because of his injury.

Exodus is also a special needs kitty, because he is positive for FIV. FIV is not a death sentence. Cats can live long and healthy lives with this disease. Exodus will just need to be an only cat, in a home with a dog, or with another FIV positive kitty.

This sweet guy loves people. He loves to be held and petted and he follows you around like a little dog. Exodus is about 2-3 years old. He is neutered and vaccinated. He has been dewormed and treated for fleas and ticks. He is healing nicely and actually is starting to look like a cat.
