We've found ourselves the guardians of two Abyssinians. They were a group of 5 whose owner (a breeder) came into some health problems which spiraled out of control. While she was undergoing treatment, a neighbor came in and took care of her animals for a few months. Eventually the owner died and a sister was put in charge of the estate. All 5 cats were taken to a shelter -- which was, thankfully, a proactive breed rescue shelter. Two of the cats were taken by one rescue immediately and we were contacted to take the other three, one of which has a home now.
Both the ruddy boy and the fawn girl are fostered in the same home now in Houston, Texas. The ruddy male is named Rider and the fawn female is named Creampuff. These are not their original names, as in the confusion, we have no information on these cats.
The ruddy male has not missed a beat and is super friendly and relaxed and the fawn female is also sweet natured.
We've tested all three for feline leukemia & feline aids (negative) they've been vaccinated with their Rabies vaccine and they've all been spayed/neutered. To reimburse our costs, we're going to ask $150 adoption fee for each cat.
Both cats have their claws and want to keep them, so anyone who needs a declawed cat, please don't apply.
