Meet Archie in New Hampshire

Archie is being returned to our rescue because his family's circumstances have changed, and he doesn't get enough attention or exercise at this point. Archie is 10 years old.

Archie is a very sweet boy who will love you with everything he has. He is great with all people (from babies to adults) and does not show any signs of possession with “his” items or food. His favorite treat is his Kong, with some peanut butter on the inside.

Archie’s best friend was a female English Bulldog, “Lola” who since passed of old age. They would always lay in the same bed together, even though they had their own beds. So, he thrives on companionship. He is trained to not go on furniture but if you allow him, he would love that too. He is all about a soft comfy place to rest near you.

Archie’s favorite activity is going for walks or hikes. He is a hound dog, so he loves to pick up a scent. As a result, taking him for walks or jogs, typically entails frequent stops. He does sometimes pull while on a leash, because he is excited to go; but if you tug it back, he will heel and walk or jog next to you. Archie would also be super happy to tag along for a car ride too.

Archie mostly lays around inside the house, but if it’s hot and sunny, he prefers to be outside with some soft grass to lay in. He doesn’t like being outside when it’s cold unless he is out for a walk and he does not like to get wet.

Archie is house trained and will go to the door when he needs to go out. If you are taking too long to let him out, he will whimper to get your attention.

Almost Home Rescue of New England is a 501 c 3 non-profit rescue; rescuing dogs since 2005.
