Billy Boy Beagle St Catharines, ON

July 23, 2011: Billy was adopted!




Say hello to Billy, a 2-3 year old sweet Beagle boy. This guy is very friendly, handsome and ready for a family of his own. He was found outside the local pound, tied to the fence with a rope and twist ties. Despite his circumstances, Billy is a happy boy, just waiting for the perfect family to choose him. Billy is a very loving and affectionate dog. He LOVES to be cuddled, especially in your arms. He snuggles right in, putting his front legs around your neck and giving sweet Beagle kisses to your face and any other skin he can find. He is so happy for attention and he just wants to show you how grateful he is with lots of kisses and tail wagging. He will happily rest in your arms, letting you pet him, talk sweetly and just hold him. He doesn't seem to realize that he weighs 42 lbs and is not exactly a lap top. He just loves being with people!





Billy also loves to hang out, meet and play with other dogs. He has very nice manners with them, whether on or off leash. He loves other dogs so much that once he sees them, he whines excitedly and tries to rush right over to say hello and exchange doggie business cards. You can imagine that Billy is a hit at the dog park! He just rips around having a grand ole' time... jumping, cavorting, wrestling... he loves it! Billy would greatly enjoy joining a family with another dog that he could play and romp with. He is nice about sharing his toys, food and bed too.





Billy loves going for walks and as a fairly young boy, he needs regular daily exercise to be happy and stay fit. When out on walks, he has his nose to the ground and like many hounds, has a tendency to pull. His foster Mom is training him with a Gentle Leader and we're sure in no time he'll be walking nicely. He does know some basic obedience and is happy to obey (if a cookie or two is involved!). He does like to beg for food and has actually almost perfected the art of balancing on his back legs for long periods of time to get a closer look at what you're eating or cooking. He is not a tremendous pest or thief about food; he just looks longingly with his soulful Beagle eyes. Truthfully, it is hard to resist.





In the house Billy has nice manners as well. He sleeps happily on his dog bed, is non-destructive and rarely barks. At his foster home Billy lives with a young child and another dog. He gets along vey well with both and could happily be adopted to a family with children and other dogs. He has been tested with cats and was fine; this friendly boy could happily live with them with no issues.





Another cute thing about Billy… he likes to look good!! He absolutely loves to be groomed and will sit nicely for as long as you want to brush him. And my goodness, you should see him preen and prance when you're done. He is so proud of himself; he must think he's a show dog or something! Too funny! His coat is in great shape and velvety soft. We think someone must have treated Billy well in his past life, brushing him lovingly to make him like grooming so much.





Billy the Beagle boy is fully vetted and in good health. He is neutered, weighs 42 lbs and up to date with his vaccines. His exact age is unknown but the vet estimated that he is 2-3 years old.





Overall Billy is quite a lovely and pleasant dog. He loves people and other dogs and is great in the house. What more can you ask for?? He would be a great addition to almost any family. Maybe yours????
